The duo explores and questions sound, listening and space with simple, minimal and acoustic sound actions. Entirely improvised, the duo's approach manifests itself within the place and time of the concert, thus inviting a real experience of listening, including the musicians, the public and the space.
The live concert which became 'Action Mécanique' was recorded during a tour in the Balkan region including concerts in Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Skopje, Pristina and Istanbul.

Over the years, Michel Doneda (b. 1954) has developed one of the most extensive musical vocabularies in free improvisation. A specialist of the soprano saxophone, he has gradually moved from left-field jazz to the fringes of free improv. His playing can be at turns lyrical, playful or raucous, and switch from the liveliness of street melodies to circular breathing, microscopic sounds or shrieking outbursts. His most frequent recording and performing partners over the years have included singer Beñat Achiary, percussionist Lê Quan Ninh, hurdy-gurdy player Dominique Regef and bassist Barre Philipps. The last years he has also performed with Keith Rowe, Bhob Rainey, Giuseppe Ielasi, Alessandro Bosetti, Fabtice Charles, Xavier Charles and has worked with the butoh dancers Masaki Iwana and Yukiko Nakamura. For many years he has been involved in the international improvised music scene, and done tours and festivals in Africa, Japan, Asia, Canada and Russia.
